I just went to a talk at Gildas club for Naturopathic approaches to cancer. It was a very interesting discussion by Dr. Mihal Davis from Grandmother Moons Naturopathic medicine clinic. She talked about what Naturopathic medicine is and it was actually really good to hear the basics. The other thing I found interesting was the questions that people asked. Many questions involved what exactly is Naturopathic medicine and how do we use it. The other question was, once we get done with conventional medicine what do we do. This is the one that intrigued me the most. Why you ask? Because that's the question everybody has. They ask that question of the conventional/oncological doctor and the doctor usually answers well just keep doing what you're doing. The question then is what exactly is that because you just got done getting chemo and radiation and annihilating your immune system and now you want me to what? One woman was very concerned with this question not being answered by her conventional doctor so Dr. Davis was able to tell her there's many many things you can do. She talked about two things that are the staples of keeping your immune system really strong one is a beef broth it's actually called the "beef bone broth". I've actually made it with chicken but not with beef. The other is the almighty "green smoothie". I really like what Mihal used for the greens, called "Barlean Greens", because it makes the smoothie super easy to make and then you add medicinal herbs to give you a boost of energy.
What an enlightening evening it was actually awesome!!
Have a great day!!
Peace and lots of love,
