Rethink : "The beauty of the first snow..."

Hi,

Just a thought about the first snow.  It is always so beautiful when it first starts falling and gently floats to the ground.  Each flake falling individually from the sky full of packs of these flakes.   As each flake falls to the ground, there is a soft whisper as it lands and settles into the small pile that is beginning to gather.  More and more come down and a beautiful white blanket begins to appear.  It is stunning really, breathtaking if you will.  As the first snow leads to the next snow and the next inches and the next beautiful flake, a quiet hush falls across the land and lulls us into a beautiful hibernation of winter.
How are you going to use your hibernation?

I am going to use mine to reconnect with myself, find time to exercise, and find food that I like to eat and it likes me!

Peace and much love,

Leslie

Rethink Your Mind-Body connection: Breathing

Hi,

As I finish up my meditation for this am I am thinking of the Breathe and how critical it is for us and how much we take it for granted.  It only takes a moment to breath and appreciate what it does for your body.  We all know that without it we are not going to make it in this world so maybe it is time to take a moment to appreciate the breath.

Why are we so blind to the power of the breath?  Because, just like the earth rotating around the sun, we don't have to think about our breath in order to continue to live on this plane!  So what would happen if we took this moment and I took four breathes in and out.  Just slowly, thinking about each breath.  There is a big connection between the breath and your body.  When you slow down and focus on your breath, your body slows down as well,  your heart rate decreases and you feel a sense of calm.  This is a great way to take a break each day and slow down!!

Have a great, peaceful day today and don't forget to breath!

Peace and Much Love,

Leslie

Rethink Treatments: Mistletoe Extract

Hello,

Hope you all had a great weekend!!  Aside from the snow on friday it was a great weekend.  I am getting into knitting and have knit my first Hat!!!  Yea Me!!  It is beautiful and my 17 year old daughter said it was really good. That is the highest  praise I can get.  She said she would wear it!  So Yeah!

I wanted to talk a little about a treatment I am doing for my illness along with many other fun things.  This one is to boost my immune system and it works great!  It is European Mistletoe Extract.  That's right Mistletoe as in Christmas as in kissing under the mistletoe....  It is one of the most widely used alternative medicine in Europe.  It is injected in the skin subcutaneously and stimulates the immune system to activate more.  It particularly activates the Natural Killer cells which specifically target cancer cells.  Its efficacy is being tested today by the FDA to determine if it  could be used in the US.  It is currently only available through Canada for use in the US.  It does have its side effects because let's just say it, it is a poison, but that is why it is administered in small doses under the skin to merely stimulate the immune system.  I know it sounds scary but compared to chemo I am liking it!!  I am doing it under the care and supervision of an awesome Naturopathic Doctor as well , Dr. Aaron Henkel.

Go out and have a super day and appreciate the beauty and goodness around you!!

Peace and Much Love,

Leslie
