I was riding bikes with a wonderful friend of mine and she posed a very good question about the protein component of juicing!! What a super great question as we are a society focused on getting enough protein and you can feel it when your body does not get enough!! So I put on my detective hat and did some investigating and here is what I found:
- Steak has only 6.4 grams of protein per 100 calories while broccoli has 11.1 grams and spinach has 12.2 grams.
So the answer to my friends question is there is a lot of protein in those juices so drink up!!!!
I have included an image with some numbers for the amount of protein in common juicing and eating vegetables as well as common meat/dairy protein sources!
